Great to see so many of you enjoying your running week. Proud of yall (us) for overcoming and dealing with some obsticles, challenges and in spite of it all still getting in the running when we can sometimes being creative along the way. Those days are the most interesting to me and love to hear about them.
My week 1 numbers: 6 runs 23.77 miles
weight delta: -1.5 lbs (130) if shy share your delta, cause this is good learning data for us all to know along with speed and overall running improvements.
On to week 2! look tomorrow for "Week 2: Nov 8-14" dicsussion topic for that week's postings, or whoever posts first tomorrow morn please feel create the new topic
Rob, good to hear from you. BTW everyone, Rob is Tammy's brother! wow a 27 miler in there! and a smartly placed rest day, way to go. You always run a marathon in your running weeks?
Ok so things are picking up. Ran last night and did a lap around the bowl. Then this morning swam for 45 minutes with masters followed by a lap around the bowl.
Marvin, look forward to running with you as well! Here are the rest of my week plans.
Thursday: run with the group at the bowl
Friday: swim from 6-6:45am; run starting at 7am sharp (need to be in the office early) and do one lap around the bowl. Anyone who wants to join me I will be starting from the Aquatic Center parking lot.
You know I meant to add something to my first shout out. I was thinking that even though I did not make it to the Thursday morning run last week I figured that riding 18 miles the night before on a mountain bike around town and going up some hills in a sexy beer garden outfit has to be worth something, right?
hey what's up marvin. i had the stinson marathon planned for nov 3 but then decided to skip it and run the distance on my regular trails in wildcat and tilden parks. my plan is to bring my long run down to 15 this week and then ladder up to 30 three or four weeks later.
Last day of week 1 and I had a great run today. Fresh off of my day off tuesday, I was able to push a 7.26 miler right at 8:31 pace. I hadn't run the corse in two months so I beat my time by 12 minutes. Its hard to believe I just got back into running 4 months ago and have made so much progress. I'm still a long way from where I used to be, but I'm getting back quicker than I thought with the continued effort. Ive tried to get back in shape before but never stuck with it. I'm glad to have joined up on the challenge, and I think by the end of the month running will definetly be the norm. Thanks Marvin!
End of week one and I ended it tonight with a track work out. It was pretty brutal. Sue O. was there so we were abused together. Anyway...here's my total for the week:
Well guys, im very disapointed in myself for week one. With 3 runs i got a total millage of 7.5. Unfortuently i hurt my back doing dead lifts and had to take a few days off. Im not sure if i can make 26 now but im determined to keep going as hard as i can.
