I cnat even work out how you print a map!!
Mike gallagher
I have just spent the best part of two weeks planning a 3000 mile trip rounr france, saved all my routes with the expectation of brilliantly printing them off as i visit internet cafes on route.
I cannot seem to be able to print???????????????????
I am a premium member, therefore you have taken my money, yet currently have just destroyed my trip as ALL my planning is ony routes???
What is going to be done about this i am very upset!!!!
I paid to download & print a map of a ride from Ogunquit to York, Maine, and the donwload never happened. Called Customer Service and got voice mail. Feeling more than a little ripped off here!
I'm very disappointed!
Before becoming a premium member I could print a map with my computer's regular print function to get the K markings and a little more detail if I chose to. As well, I could use the print preview function and make changes, such as deleting the parts of the page that I did not want to print, etc. Now, I am forced to use the mapmyrun print icon...the route covered takes a small portion of the screen...there is not much detail, so I can not just give a map to my fellow runners without a lot of explanation...I can only get mile marking, not K....and I am forced to print a large solid border/background, thereby wasting a lot of ink....I am very disappointed!!!
The inability to print a simple map for personal use (to give to family when I head out the door) is extremely disappointing to me. I am not interested in paying a premium to be able to print. By having ads on the site is where the revenue should be coming from, not the direct premium membership.
Only a couple weeks ago I was at work telling my fellow runners about this great site and how I'm tracking my running goals. I was genuinely excited about it. Pay for print - ridiculous. Now I'll be telling them a much different story. I'll be using the tell-a-friend feature to let fellow runners know to tread very carefully with this site, if at all.
Your credibility is now in question. Please re-think your business model.
Whem i first came across this site i thought it was a great site, now with credits for printing i think otherwise! My sentiments as posted by dkruschek above.
Have purchase credits today in order to print a route i wanted.
Now tried twice, credits taken, no print, file not opened to adobe pdf viewer as it is reported as damaged and will not progress.
Not great service, i hope to get a responce to a contact mail i have sent.
Let me add one more voice to the chorus.
I have previously printed maps for a number of purposes -- sometimes to share with running buddies, sometimes to watch the elevations on my hilly runs. It was this type of practical feature that convinced me to start logging my training here, instead of on paper.
Now what have you done to the site? Was this the plan all along?
Dkruschek's comment about your business model was right on the money. The Internet is fast and its users finicky; build a worse mousetrap and the path to your door will soon be overgrown.
I am trying to print maps for a 200 mile bike tour and all I get are 0 byte pdf files. I have tried IE and Firefox on my PC, will try safari on my macbook but I have no confidence there.
I have enjoyed this site and didn't mind signing up for a 3 month membership in order to support them -- now I feel like an idiot. Should have gone for the 1 month first :( Obviously this feature is not ready for prime time.
We've pushed out a release of our print designer. Some users have communicated to us that the overview maps are too broad... Try the detailed segment views!
Did yo know under Map Options you can choose the level of detail? ie, every 2.5 miles?
Also, we're working on a way to try to auto-fit notes on the single page however if yo have 2,500 turn-by-turn directions, we're not going to be able to fit them all on 1-page. To better help those users that are right on the cusp, we're also introducing the ability to change font-size as well as show/hide markers in the note view.
Lastly, many users have indicated that elevation profile is not visible -- It's under Map Options!
BcBoy29: Please send me an email at feedback@mapmyfitness.com with details about your issues so we can get to the bottom of this.
Cheers,
-Kevin
