Hi everybody.  I'm misstearyvee.  i'm 17 years old and currently finishing up my last year of highschool.  I've always been an avid runner because a)running is freaking awesome and b) i was/am obsessed about my weight.  this obsession caused me to have an eating disorder, bulimia with anorexic tendencies.

i've struggled with this for many years and have only recently been given a chance to recover.  I'll be attending intensive in/out-patient treatment at a clinic this January.  I plan on living my life healthier and lose weight safely.  I had lost and gained weight alot this year and i really am looking for something that i can stick to, y'know?  I'm 5'4 currently 125 lbs.  My lowest weight was 114 and highest was 132.
i'm hoping to find ppl who can help support me on my road to recovery, and bring me back to reality.  any nutrition tips or advice is welcome, thanks for listening. <3

I don't have direct experience with an eating disorder, other than watching friends struggle with them. But I do know to make any kind of major change you have to surround yourself with people who support you and want you to recover.

The experts at the clinic will be able to give you the pointers you need on how to manage your weight safely. What you need to do is truly commit yourself to being healthy, taking care of yourself.

Welcome to reality, happy to listen and help any way I can.

I too deal with an eating disorder on a daily basis.  I tried to "recover" on my own but really only made progress when I went through an outpatient program as well.  I think that you can't think about "losing weight" at all if you want to truly recover.  You need to realize that your body has a weight that it is comfortable at and that even if its not the weight you would like to be at, it is what your body wants to be at in order to work most efficiently.  I am slowly beginning to be comfortable with the weight my body likes and not the weight that I want (in my head).  You need to have a good mix of healthy exercise and eating for fuel and enjoyment.

You will truly become a happier person when you focus on other parts of your weight/food.  You become your eating disorder and lose sight of who you actually are.  Treatment is a fabulous thing and hopefully it will change your life.  Keep plugging away, its not easy.

My wife struggles with eating disorders and one thing that has really helped her is training for triathalons.  She is seeing progress in her training, instead of seeing progress in her weight loss by not eating.   Hope this helps.
