    Jeff,

I am having a problem with elevation.  I created a (non-public) map as an example:

    http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-states/ca/exeter/590179225

This short 11 mile cycling course has an elevation gain of about 575 feet. When you display elevation the elevation gain  shows as 1929 feet.  When you export the raw csv it shows a gain of 587 feet (which is probably more accurate than my estimate).  It appears that in the profile and the ascent/descent display you are multiplying by the conversion from meters to feet (1929/587 = 3.286 - roughly the conversion factor).  This would work in GPX files by dividing feet by this factor but here you are already in feet.  Can you fix this?  It appears that you do not differentiate between routes imported from a GPX (where <ele> is in meters) and routes created here, which are measured in feet, when displaying elevation.

Also, it would be really helpful if your GPX export function included elevation data!!  Please, please, please!  If you add it, please do not round up meters when you go from feet to meters but give as many significant digits as possible because other mapping sites such as BikeRouteToaster round up and this creates huge overestimates in elevation gain.  You can contact me at bnicely@pacbell.net.  One last thing, can you share the calculation you are using to determine miles?  Are you using great circle distance calculations?

    Thanks for a great site!
