I just wanted to drop a note to say thanks, and great job!

This site is vastly superior to any of the competitors I have tried... you offer (for free, no less!!) a more user friendly interface, better data input, and the majority of the features available on sites that want $20 PER MONTH to use.

Fantastic job...keep up the great work and I will keep supporting the sponsors.  If I need to do my shopping online with REI, Accelerade, PerformanceBike, etc in order to keep the use of MapMyEtc free and easy, well, I think that is a fair trade.

    Thanks again,

    Ross in Grand Rapids, MI

Thanks for the kind words Ross, we love hearing feedback like this.  If you follow the forums you'll also see that we're dedicated to continue to improve the site.  We've got a lot of new features coming in the next few months, and feedback like this helps keep us going.

Well, I'm glad my words of encouragement found some ears and could help.  Without the feedback and encouragement that mapmytri.com has provided, I doubt I'd have made it this far in my training.

Competing in my first Tri this coming Sunday (4 days left, yikes!).  I'll wear my Garmin watch and upload the data for the race to mapmytri...hopefully it will be accompanied by some good stories.  Though, I'm not ruling out the possibility that the data will include a trip across the lake in a rescue boat that prevents me from drowning or a ride in a van that picks me up after I crash my bike.

Tracking my progress on this site has given me the confidence to think I'll finish.  And, probably in one piece.

    Thanks again!

    Ross

I agree! I went on an extensive search for tools like this and this goes above and beyond them all. The greatest hits of route tools, rolled into one. I love it!

First couple of long rides I entered (50 mile courses, off road, many waypoints) bogged down my browser (IE, unfortunately) to the point where my CPU was 100% for minutes. However, after the recent tweak, it flys.

Now, how about being able to download a route into a "regular" Garmin (such as my Vista Cx)?

    Zoomer-

Your Garmin Vista is compatible with the Garmin GPS Web uploading tool.  Have you tried it?  We recommend firefox for this feature.

    Hi Jeff,

No, I thought the uploading tool went the other way. Per the New Features blurb: "import your routes directly from your GPS unit to MapMyRide.com". What I'd like to do is download from MMR to the GPS. Can I do this?

     Thanks!

Whoops, my dumb. I see under Save an option to Download to GPS. I assume this is what I'm looking for, don't know how I missed it before...

Actually Zoomer, you are correct.  The new gps tool is for getting route data from your gps, not the other way around.  However, we do allow you to save any route into GPX format, which you should be able to load onto your unit with the proper software.  If you don't yet have software for this, gpsbabel is an example of free software you can use.
