Hi, been running for 2 months now and I’m up to 3 miles with a 9 - 10 min pace.  I have my breathing under control and I think I’m pushing myself.  The only problem is my hamstrings are killing me start to finish now and I don’t understand why.  It’s slowing me down and almost breaks my will.  Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try?

Agreed that you definitely need to be stretching.  Don't just stretch the hamstrings.  Make sure you are also stretching the quads as well.

Are you leaning forward while running, or stretching your legs out too much? Check your posture with a friend, (or mirror in the gym)

Are you taking rest days between your runs? Maybe your legs just want to repair... When starting running, the body is not yet ready to a big amount of running. Your muscles will strenghten rapidly but ligaments takes more time... Patience and perseverance may be your bests friends (...along with A LOT of stretching (all the time, even on your days off!)).
