Help!: Copy AND edit someone else's route?

    Is it possible to both copy and edit someone else's route?  I can copy it to my profile, but then it just shows up as being bookmarked, not an editable route.  I'd like to copy someone else's route as a starting place and be able to actually modify the route to my own starting point.

    In the upper left of the map under the "save" drop down menu, select 'save as .gpx'

    Then go to "map new run"  and import the .gpx file.

    yeah, but how do you cut the route into 2 pieces and add new segments?
