I've been using this site for close to a year now.  Today was the first time I tried mapping my run with the new Beta version.  I was reluctant to use it because I tried using a Beta version on the MyYahoo.com site and came away clearly preferring the classic version of My Yahoo.  The problem with the Beta version here especially if you're use to the classic version is, many of the buttons are placed in different locations than you're use to on the classic version.  And I didn't see it operating any quicker than the classic version either.  I did notice the Beta version gave you less viewing space at first too. I just didn't see any clear advantages and no reason at all to switch from the classic to the Beta version here.

I much prefer the new version. Particularly once you get into long distances, over about 50 miles (I use it for cycle rides). I found that the old version was extremely slow and temperamental over long distances, but the new version copes much better.

The only thing I don't like about the beta version is that it doesn't seem to display the max/min altitude and ascent/descent totals on the elevation.

Maybe it does work better on long distances.  I didn't see any advantage though in the short distance I covered on it.

I recently tried the Beta version for the first time as well.  The only thing I didn't like was that I have yet to find the "Undo"/"Clear All" buttons.  Are they there, but I just didn't look in the right place?  Or have they been removed?

If removed, I would like to beg the powers that be to put them back. Laughing  Mapping with a touchpad rather than a mouse, I tend to make a few mistakes on my routes and the "Undo" button is my best friend.

    Otherwise, still loving this site!

I have a very difficult time using the Beta version in Firefox on Mac OS 10.4. After a little bit, it won't let me place points. I can undo, but it won't let me advance. This usually happens when I'm about halfway through mapping, and I have to give it up and return to the original map system.

Does anyone know how to load a saved route in the beta version?  Anytime I recall a route it automatically loads in the classic version without an option to switch to the beta.

I cant find the follow road function on the beta version.  Is it missing or am I going blind?

FYI there is a separate beta fourm [click] but I have not found it useful (the beta or that forum) - maybe some day ... .. .
