    We've updated the forums to display your user profile picture along with your username during a discussion.  If you haven't yet uploaded a user profile picture, you can upload one via you "My Profile" page.  We encourage you to do so, as we'll be using these for more of the community oriented features that are coming soon.

    oops, my bike is getting chopped. 

    Is there a maximum size for the picture?  Or is it maybe assuming a square rather than a rectangle?

    Yeah, we "squarize" your pic if it isn't already.  I think it looks pretty cool like that, but you can upload a more square pic if you want to 'fix' it.

    FYI, we'll be increasing the size of the pics in this space with a minor layout change soon.  With this change, we may be restoring the original aspect ratio, depending on how it looks.

    Update: you'll now see that we're showing the user profile pictures a bit bigger, and preserving your original photo aspect ratios (unfortunately for some..ahem...Trotters Smile).

    Maybe I'm just an idiot, but I can't seem to get my pic to work. It's well within the 400X400 pixel maximum... I click "choose file," then I highlight my mugshot, then I click "choose," and then I see it's on the web page as a .jpg, but when I re-save my profile, no pic. Maybe someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong.

    Frank-

     Did you go through step 2 before saving?  Note that when you submit, your file has to be uploaded so it can take some time before it returns.

    Yeah, I did.  I just did it again in Firefox instead of Safari and it seems to have worked. 

    No offense, but I'll give up MMF before I give up Safari.  I'll check the FAQ on the browsers supported first next time.

    Hi Frank-

    We weren't aware of issues with profile picture upload in Safari, so thanks for letting us know about this.  We've internally opened this issue for investigation.  We of course strive to support Safari as completely as possible.
