Help!: Ssaving Garmin Course files

OK .. so I'm extremely frustrated by this site by two "features"

 1. First if I try to save a route as a Garmin course file (crs or tcx doesnt matter) I get teh bos to select teh file tyoe to save and then I select get file and it goes to never never land waiting for soemthing to save. The same thing happenns if I try a gpx save. I can seem to save a google earth file.

2. No matter what I try to do with creating a route in rhode island, i get no elevation data.

 Also, I cant find how to save Garmin course data from the new editor. The above discussion relates to the old editoe.

There is promise here, but no if it works like this.
