I recently purchased a Garmin 76CSx, and have been saving my routes via GPX files (the whole purpose of buying a GPS was to track my rides post-ride instead of manually entering details in).

Much to my dismay, I've had a huge amount of trouble getting these rides to save properly on the new beta tool.  I create a new map, import the file, everything looks fine, add my comments and save the map.  I close the browser, clear the cache and all the private data, re-open it and one of two things happens: in IE 6.0, the browser only loads the upper half of my route, and crashes trying to load the lower half.  In Firefox, the route doesn't even display and an error message is displayed saying that map information is not available and i should try and zoom out - with the map at the furthest zoom out setting.  I have tried this on two seperate computers, both running Windows XP with the appropriate settings used as indicated in the help section.  Other user maps load fine.  The GPX files were only 20 mi long, however were about 120 kb in size due to a large number of plotted points.

Switching to the old map editing tool (which I find to be much slower and less user friendly), I upload the file and voila, saves perfectly first time, reloads perfectly and no error messages pop up.

Just thought I'd give a heads up to SAVE YOUR GPX files and make sure that the map reloads fine after you've finished saving it.
