    Hello All

anyone experience heightened hay fever / grass allergin problems after running?  Mine seems to be worse once I've stopped.  Could that be because of lungs working extra hard & taking in deep breaths?  have tried every anti-histamine around, none seem to help. Almost feels like I'm wheezing.  Any suggestions - its exhausting!

    Greetings,

I'm new to the board. I'm 31, and a runner from Minnesota.

It sounds like you may have a touch of asthma. You might want to see an allergy doc. For me this happened often until I was put onto my asthma and allergy meds (allegra-D worked for me), and I started taking a shower right after running. The shower with a good scrubbing seems to get the pollen off and the cool water helps too. I'm not sure why it is that  sweaty bodies seem to be  pollen magnets though. Some people can even have allergies to a combination of sweat and heat.

I'd also suggest checking the dewpoints before or during your run. Heavy dewpoints (67 at 80 degrees F) absolutely drains my energy.
