LOL, I was selecting a topic and almost picked "Tough as Nails" instead of our group name ;-)

I presume we are not having a training meeting this am? I'll drop by Snap just in case to see. My race was great as trail races go. I'll try to write up a little race report and post it later. To summarize, I was able to cover hilly, rocky and tree laden trails for 10K in 1:28:06. My goal was to clear 1:30 so I'm happy, I was not last! YEAH!! I will def do this race again, in spite of a face plant, the invisible gouging tree branch and the shoe eating mud, I had a BLAST :-)

I will try to eak out a relaxed 7-8 miles later today to work out any kinks and loosen up for the 5K tomorrow.

Colleen-I was right behond you on the trail run.  I finishes 1:30.  I have never done anything like it and in a twisted way it was fun.  Were you running with four girls for a while?  I think it was us.

I probably was, since I did not know anyone personally I just ran with whoever until I could work in a pass. After people entered the Mud Pits that spaced everyone out and I was by myself after that. As many times as I turned my left ankle I am really suprised it is not sprained. I have the beginnings of a nice technicolor bruise where the invisible tree branch gouged me on the Wyandotte loop.

I guess I AM twisted because these kind of 'endurance' events for me are much more fun than the  garden variety road race. There's something about struggling along by yourself through challenging conditions that makes it much more personal and REAL. Darn, I wish I knew you were right close to me, I would have introduced myself!

Time to haul my rapidly getting sore butt to Snap to work ou the lactic acid.
