Hey everyone. I've been running for quite a while now but never entered any races and I feel like its time to start. I mapped out a 5k route which was fairly hilly using the site which I just ran in 20:41. Was just wondering how this time stands up to others? I'm a 22 year male about 11 1/2 stone. Cheers. James.

    welcome james.

I'm 41/male.  My best 5k was 20:24 earlier this year. I'm a little heavier by 2 stones or so. I didn't do much running until last summer

Thats pretty awesome because your time in the actual will most likely be faster because when in a race its so much more exciting and exhilarating.  Anyways, thats a pretty decent time for just a tempo run with hills  My freshman year in  HS (Now going to be a sophmore) I ran one 5k and ran it in 19:45 but the course was flat.  And also, if I knew what stones were i might have given a little better feedback lol

I've been running maybe a year or so and slowly building up fitness and speed but I've never really tested how I was doing relative to anybody else, just done it for fun as a hobby I guess. Thanks for the feedback, its cool to hear that I seem to have done it in a fairly respectable time. I'm from the UK so a bit hazy on the freshman/sophmore stuff. What age does that make you guys?

check out the training summary thread and you can get an idea of where you compare to others on the site. not necessarily by age, but at least by time

Unfortunately it is 14lbs....I am English but live in Canada now and so always convert my weight (cos' I weigh in stones) back to lbs and WISH that it were only 11.5....I would be instantly skinnier!!!!!! I just checked google and it said 14lbs. I just googled 'stone to lbs' so maybe the calculator you are using is not converting the right the right thing?? However I think I may go with your calculator as it might make me underweight and then I would have excuse to consume vast quantities of Hagen Daz!!!!!! :)
