Quick intro, I am 38 yo male and have started physical exercise in order to lose weight and for overall health (quality time with wife and kids).  I ran pretty extensively in the military, but that was about 20 years ago and my body never appreciated those runs (in boots, after allnighters, etc.....)

Now the onto the question.  I recently saw on a running web site the biomechanics of running.  The one that really got me was the "land on the balls of your feet as you run".  I have heard on more than one occasion land on your heel and roll your foot through.  This morning I tried the balls of your feet run and my calves were (are) mooing quite loudly.  My distance was average, little over 4 miles, and my time was a little slower (about 1.5 minutes off pace).  And I appear to have gotten a blister.

Is this something to get use to or should I continue to run like I did before.  The run felt pretty good this morning during, but after I'm not so sure.
