Hi, I am new to Map My Run.  I was wondering if anyone new of any running groups in the seattle area.  I am trying to run a bit faster for the up coming Seattle marathon.   Anyone know of places to look for running groups or of any in particular.

     Thanks

The Nike store downtown has group running weekly, as well as Joe's Sports in Northgate, Super Jock n Jill at Greenlake, and Roadrunner Sports at Greenlake. Those are just the ones I know off the tip of my head. Grab a recent issue of Northwest Runner, or go to their website (http://www.nwrunner.com/) for a better list.

Hi! another great running group is on Capital Hill at the Seattle Running Company. They're a nice bunch of people too. The URL is http://www.seattlerunningcompany.com

     Welcome to Seattle!

Hey  there Jeanna.  This is Chuck, the  Co-ordinator of Joe's Sports modest running club.  If you live in the  North end of Seattle and would like to   run with us we run every Thursday at 6 PM.

We are on a total revamp of our club (several members just  moved) and are starting again, almost from scratch.  We are a more social group prone to talking as well as running, though   myself and one  other runner are already planning marathons  before the Seattle Marathon (Bellingham for him and Leavenworth for me).

We typically  never put in more than  7  miles (though that might change as  more marathoners join up) and always make room for runners who are  just beginning doing short loops and dropping them off at the store so they  can hydrate and make it home to cook some dinner.

If you live close to Capitol hill  then I can't reccomend Seattle Running Company enough.  They have a  great shop, put  on some great races, and the owner used to coach  THE Scott Jurek!

Whatever your choice I hope you havea  great time in the  Northwest and that our misty winters don't keep you indoors.

    Sincerely

    Chuck Nichols
