    hey all- i've ridden on the LIE service road before from the outskirts of queens out to as far as wheatley road... my question is: can one continue on the LIE service roads further? specifically, i'd like to ride on it all the way out to medford... thanks for any insights- colin

    hey man, if you want to get out to Medford by service road you can. The service roads go to exit 67 I belive. But Umm one quetion for ya, why would you ride that road, its sooo dirty and noisy.

    well, alot of the routes i've taken out into the northern side of LI (cold spring/caumsett/glen cove) have relied on the LIE service road to get outa queens and into 'the good stuff' i.e. wheatley road, etc... i found the LIE service road up to that point to be relatively tolerable.  i'm going camping out towards medford and was just looking for a simple route out there...

    I see,yea I guess the service road would be your best bet then. It is in the middle of the island and you can head south or north for really good riding. Are you heading out to Cathedral Pines for the MTB picnic ?

    Northern Blvd can get you out there too.  Check it out on Google maps.
