    Hey sister-in-law!  Ok - favorite pre-run food?  I have always stuck to my banana and peanut butter on a slice of wheat toast before a long run...but I find that I lose steam on my longer runs...and don't really like to "goo" unless it's necessary.  What does everyone like to eat pre-run?

    I agree completely! Every race I've ran, I ate a banana and an english muffin (sometimes half, sometimes whole) with peanut butter.

    Oatmeal is a good one too. It sits heavy in your stomach, but if you know you have a little time to digest before your run, it will keep ya going! Laughing

    If I eat anything with any fiber, it usually spells trouble a little while down the road.... eek.  I try to stick to simple carbs (banana, even quick-cooking couscous) with a little peanut butter or olive oil.  And I wait at least an hour before I head out!
