by: cinelliHMB - Nov 21 2008, 10:18PM You might consider doing a monthly update on the progress of improving this app.
(I for one would be happy to get this emailed to me)
You've got some pretty helpful volunteers helping you work through it and tons of us patiently waiting for the next rev that will resolve the issues on this forum.
I'm sure we'd all like to feel hopeful that there is an end in sight and a simple monthly update would sure help.
We all want you to be successful.
Let us know how it going.

by: jeff@mmf - Nov 21 2008, 8:36AM Hi Steve-
I'm sorry to hear about your troubles and I'd like to try and help.
When you set your username and password in the "settings" section, do you see the "account verified" alert? Also, are you able to see your my training section?

by: steveaich - Nov 21 2008, 8:23AM Hi
I don't seem to be able to ever save a run or ride. I always get the following message;
Save Error
An error occured while saving. Please amke sure you have network access, and have the correct login credentials set. etc etc
I have 4-5 bars of 3g reception, and am using the same login that I use on this website.
I'd really like to get this working can anyone help?

by: jeff@mmf - Nov 20 2008, 8:56PM Thanks Jim!
After speaking with Jim, I have been able to reproduce, verify, and isolate the "stop button not working" issue. This was a tricky one to see and find, because it only usually shows itself once recording has been taking place for 30 minutes or more.
I believe that I have found the fix, and I'll be submitting an update to the app store tonight. FYI, the process between submittion and availability in the store usually takes about 3-4 days, but I will update the forum when the fixed version is available.
Thanks everyone for your patience and sorry for the troubles. The feedback in these forums really helps us improve the products, and we appreciate it.

by: jimhook - Nov 20 2008, 7:35PM In out of band communication I have worked with Jeff. He has been very helpful. I believe I have helped him recreate some of the problems that I have experienced.

by: jimhook - Nov 20 2008, 3:34PM I will try the purge and reload. I only did the standard app update.
On my first two rides I saw the screen you picture above. In both cases I tapped the unlock icon, which displayed the stop button. The stop button did not work.
I did not see the screen pictured above this morning.
I found your email. I will respond shortly. Thank you.

by: jeff@mmf - Nov 20 2008, 3:25PM jimhook-
I've emailed you to try and coordinate a time for us to talk over the phone, because I am unable to replicate this issue and I want to find out what's causing you these troubles ASAP.
As mentioned above, I do think that reinstalling and rebooting the phone may help, but in-case that's not the case, I have some more questions for those having issues so I can track this down:
Do you have the screen backlight timeout feature enabled (it is enabled by default)? When running into this problem, is it after resuming from the screen being blacked out? Do you see the screen lock/unlock screen (see below)? Note that you should never use the iPhone's 'lock/unlock' button on the top of the phone to resume the screen, as this is known to interfere with the application. To unlock the blacked out screen, tap the screen, and then tap the unlock button.
Do you see the above screen?

by: bikesoldier - Nov 20 2008, 3:03PM I was looking around today and found a company www.smheartlink.com that's developing a heart rate/cadence reciever that will work with the iPhones and many cadence/heart rate sensors. Is something like this being looked at for the iMapMyRide apps? I'm primarily a cyclist. I've been putting off getting a Garmin 705 because I was seriously looking at getting an iPhone for this, if I could also get heart rate and cadence.

by: jeff@mmf - Nov 20 2008, 2:33PM For those continuing to see stop button issues, can you please try the following procedure:
1. Delete iMapMyRun and iMapMyRide from your iPhone. To do this, click and hold the applicaiton icon until it gets wavy, then tap the X and confirm deletion.
2. Reboot your iPhone
3. Re-download and configure iMapMyRun
From our experience, the Apple update process is sometimes flawed, and can cause some strange issues that often get cleared up with the above procedure. When testing the app internally, we are not able to reproduce the stop button issue after following the above, so hopefully this will fix the issue. Please let me know your results.
