oh by the way here's the training program I followed beginning in the end of May:

It'll kick your a** but will work wonders for your overall base.

Good luck!

ok I had no idea what these classifications meant. When filling out the info when I signed up I was using the frame of reference I was telling you about where a cat 1/2 rider would be a "serious" rider. Regardless does it matter if I put serious or intermediate? And if so I can change it without a problem. Either way it doesn't change the hours I've spent in the saddle or how wasted I've felt after each day only to get up and do it again the next day. Either way I wish you the best

Competitive cat 1/2/3 riders are serious riders to me, and I don't dare compare myself to them. That's all there is to it. Trust me at 188 pounds despite the fact that I can put out a pretty decent amount of power I still get dropped on serious climbs. On the flats where weight doesn't matter I can go fast for long periods.

I am a cat 3 racer. Last year I trained a lot and was in seriously good shape. I'm talking 60 - 70 mile every morning and then 100+ mile rides on the weekends. This year I couldn't train anywhere near that level and really only began any real training at the end of May. I've actually only raced twice this year as compared to last year where I was doing several stage races. As compared to last years and any of my friends who train seroiusly I am an intermediate rider.
